2. This answer is not useful. Show activity on this post. When you look through the viewfinder you are looking through a focusing screen, a mirror and out the lens. The sensor is covered by the shutter and mirror. So any speck you see through the viewfinder is NOT on the sensor. It appears that the dust is on your focusing screen.
